Something that's worth mentioning is Greece's relationship with Cyprus. Greeks feel very close to the people of Cyprus and historically there have been many attempts to unify the two countries into one. Greeks and Cypriots essentially speak the same language just with a wildly different accent, so different that we often can't understand each other. Also, random fact, our language sounds very similar to spanish if you record speech in greek and play it backwards. Second random fact: Constantinopole was also named Polis. Polis means city, but in this case, the P is capital, like saying it is THE city, not just any city. The turkish often heard the phrase "εις την Πόλη" (prononuced "is tin Poli") which roughly means "in the city of Polis". Turkish people didn't quite know much greek so they assumed "is-tin-poli" is the city's name, so they called it "is-tan-bul" giving the city its modern name

Είτε μας αρέσει είτε όχι έτσι αντιλαμβάνεται ο κόσμος έξω από την Ελλάδα αυτό το κομμάτι οπότε καλό θα ήταν να το γνωρίζουμε για να μην δημιουργούνται παρεξηγήσεις στις συζητήσεις. Καλή σας μέρα :)
